Every Thing About Them

This was written on the back of a kid's notebook that I found lying in the street.

A Pathetic End

Discovered this in a public library copy of Leni Riefenstahl's autobiography that I was reading for school. This person had written similar comments all throughout the book. In the end reading the previous readers running commentary was more interesting then the book itself. This the final comment on the last page was by far the best and I must be honest I kind of agreed with them by the time I had finished the book, too.

Weekend Plans

Ten years ago I was teaching high school. On a Friday just after school had let out I found this piece of paper in my classroom, and realized that it could well ruin one student's carefully mapped out plans for the weekend. I ran after him, but he was gone - and I mean gone.

I stuck the paper in a notebook, and unearthed it recently while cleaning out my file cabinet. I hope he can still make us of it.

I Killed a Spider

I was walking around when I found this taped to an ATM. I quickly snagged it and put in my purse.

September 1984

Found it when I went to use the self-serve station at a Staples. On the back was just "September 1984." No idea who it belongs to or where it came from, but I'm guessing the person before me has been looking for it for a while.

Photo Booth of the Seventies

This was found in a used book that my boyfriend was reading. It is a perfect seventies photo of what looks like a mom and her daughter. Mom has freshly done her lipstick and has the perfect sunglasses on while her daughter is enjoying the thrill of the photo. Finding this seventies shot in a book my boyfriend is reading is appropriate since I joke that his coming of age of the seventies is where he is stuck in reference to books and music.

Holy Star Wars!!

I picked up a diary in the children's section of a thrift store. Some of the pages had prompts at the top. This one was "future predictions." I taught 3rd graders for a year so if you can't understand this, it translates to, "It will be like Star Wars. You will have a chore-bot. There will be a war. It will be a holy war." Wait...a holy war?!

Holy Star Wars!!
