I don't think I've ever had it. I've had periods where I didn't have anything to say, and consequently didn't write, but for the last ten years or more the ideas have flowed pretty steadily.

The hardest lesson for me has been to write for the work itself and not think about how it will be received. If you can take pleasure in the act of writing, it'll be a lot easier on your mental health in the long run.

I'm a believer in steady work habits. I try to write a little every day if it's humanly possible. Or at least sit and stare at the screen. I find if I'm patient, the words usually start to flow.
