Charlotte Raye It's something I love to do. It's as much a part of me as breathing. I wake up thinking about it and I go to bed thinking about it. I have hope of a future as a published author. I believe if I continue to work hard and continue to grow I know some day I will become a known author. I'm shooting for the best sellers list. And I won't stop until I get there and not even then.
Charlotte Raye The love of the art. Watching your skill improve and grow. It's an outlet to where ever you want to go or become. It's fun using your imagination, creating characters from thin air and breathing life into them. Writing a tale that can take you to a place that far exceeds the possibility of gravity. Writing is endless.
Charlotte Raye Years ago when I first started writing, I made the mistake in showing my work to the wrong person (a family member). I allowed this person to destroy my passion and love. No matter how hard I tried to finish my book, the words wouldn't come. I was empty and it crushed me. That was a costly lesson. One I will never forget. Now I am determined to avoid those triggers that will hinder me. I stay with a positive outlook on life. As every new author in the beginning, it is not unusual to come across a negative review or comment. It's best to keep away from anything that is going to bring you down or cause you to doubt your ability. Although, I love hearing feed back, even the not so good feed back. It helps me grow and improve. Most authors starting out make errors. We're human. At times I have to remind myself why I write. I write because it's who I am. It is part of my spirit. I write because I love it. My advice to anyone who writes, don't do it for the glory or fame. Do it for the love and for yourself.
