I don't really have this problem. (Sorry folks, but I also had painless child births. And yes, you have my permission to roll your eyes.) I do find that staring off into space while viewing the movie in my mind helps the creativity to flow. I also listen to the voice inside of me, who tells me the story. I don't know when this voice first spoke up, but I suspect she's always been a part of me. It also helps to have friends who like to tell stories and who like to laugh. (Some of my friends even share the same affliction - we laugh till we pee. Okay, now that was way too much information.) Besides, who wants writer's block when they can have chocolate?

Read a lot, write a lot, and hang out with other writers. And for goodness sake, stimulate your Muse. Go new places, do new things and meet new people. It's all grist for the proverbial mill. And don't be in a hurry to publish. Hone your craft!

I'm having fun with my new blog and of course, working on the next MMQ book. The current chapter is called, "MMQ: On The Busy Bag." (Wait for it.) :-)

I'm an extrovert, so I was busy flirting with boys, guffawing with girlfriends, body-surfing at The Wedge, working odd jobs to pay for my car, and performing in live comedy shticks during my teenage and college years. But after I had two kids in two years and was home-bound, then I turned to writing in order to be creative in ways that did not produce children. But I didn't sell anything until I joined a professional writer's group, which I highly recommend, BTW.

A friend suggested I start writing down my personal anecdotes. And when I took his advice, I found I had a natural voice for comedy - and a good use of artistic license.
