The idea for my most recent book, Kalorama Road, came from my blogging experience. Amazingly, the first chapter I wrote, turned out to be the novel’s last chapter, the conclusion. The pen seems to have a mind of its own. My original intent was to write a romance/thriller about two anonymous bloggers, but it turned into something quite different over time—a murder mystery with a touch of paranormal. The pen goes where it wants to go.

To me, writer’s block is synonymous with fatigue. It just means you need to step away from writing and do something else, preferably something just as creative. I love creating book trailers and developing my character’s world on film. So when my writing’s at a standstill, I craft a short logline and from that one or two sentences create a book teaser which usually inspires my next word or chapter.
