John Ferak Since I work on writing true-crime books in my spare time at home, a can of beer usually helps me in this area. I used to prefer Pabst Blue Ribbon, but over the past year, I've switched over to Hamm's Special Light.
John Ferak I was a newspaper journalist in Omaha, Nebraska, so I covered the entire case surrounding the shocking farmhouse slayings of the well-liked couple in rural Nebraska. A few years later, I covered the CSI scandal that emerged from the shadows of the original double murders. Several Nebraskans strongly urged me to write a true-crime book about the case. I knew the case would be of national interest and no else had seemed interested in pursuing a book, so I did it.
John Ferak Read and re-read the works of those great writers who you admire. Hone your writing skills. Writing never came easy for me. I continuously study and review the works of others who are much better than me in order to improve my own writing style and narrative writing form.
