I'm a bit haphazard when choosing a book to read. I have an ongoing list of recommended books and when I finish one I usually pick either 1.) whichever was most recently recommended or 2.) whichever is currently available at the library.

I'll admit, I'm a bit snarky and I like to find dry humor in everything. I'm always looking for a way to subvert a serious situation with something unexpected. I look for ideas all around me, and try to retell stories in the most entertaining way possible.

The idea was really a confluence of events. I loved Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I was wandering around The Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco and saw people really getting freaked out by the play. I thought "Hmmm, this is still relevant. How can I have fun with it?" The outcome was Ebenezer Scrooge: Ghost Hunter.

I believe you can demand the muse to show up. My personal routine is to go to a coffee shop with a writing goal. I don't leave until my goal is complete or at least 2 hours have passed. Sometimes I have to turn off the wifi and somedays I sit there longer than others. Now that I have trained the muse to show up, s/he rarely refuses.
