Don't put off getting started. Sit in front of your computer and start writing. Don't worry about making it perfect...you'll have plenty of time for rewrites. Also be willing to accept criticism. While it feels good to have someone praise your work, you'll learn more and write better from the suggestions people make to improve your writing or story. Even though writing is very personal, don't take it personal.
