Jennifer Bernard Hi there - I'm so sorry, I just saw this! I do have bookplates. If you still want them after so much time has passed, just let me know! LOL.
Jennifer Bernard Oh wow ... this is crazy, I didn't get a notification about your question and it's been an entire year! LOLOL. OMG, I'm so sorry, I really didn't intend to ignore you. Hot and Bothered (Ben and Julie) is out, along with Too Hot to Handle (Cassie and Kevin) -- perhaps you know that already. :-) Again, please accept my apologies for this ridiculously delayed answer. Best, Jennifer
Jennifer Bernard Hi Heather - No, you don't need to read them in order. They're all standalones. However, many of the background characters do reappear from book to book. I hope you enjoy the firemen! :-)
Jennifer Bernard Hi there -- I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you! I actually recently changed my website so the newsletter popup is no longer there. I hope that helps! :-)

Jennifer Bernard Hi Yankeecountess! That's a great question! Mayor Trent and Crush Taylor appear throughout the series, and their relationship keeps developing kind of off in the sidelines. In fact, the heroine of Book 3 (Drive You Wild) is Crush Taylor's daughter, so Wendy and Crush are seen quite a bit. I am considering writing a novella in which their story takes center stage, but that would be a little bit down the line. I really enjoy their chemistry, and have backstories all worked out for them, so I'd love to make them the stars of a book! Thank you for your question. ;-) I hope you enjoy the series -- and the baseball season! Yay!
Jennifer Bernard Hi Rita! I hope you love All of Me! The series will have three books initially. I'm working on the third now. Beyond that, we'll have to see! It might depend on how much readers want of the Kilby Catfish. I'm hoping people love them as much as I do.
Jennifer Bernard Hi Kim!!! I decided to start writing romance books when I was going through a really rough time in my life. Romance novels have always been there for me when I need comfort. Always. This particular time, about 8 years ago now, it suddenly occurred to me that I should try writing one as well! Why not, since I'd read and loved so many over the years? I was a writer for TV, but writing a book was a completely different experience, one that I loved immediately, even though that first book was tragically crappy. ;-) I've never looked back, and hope I can keep on writing romance as long as I can tap a keyboard. ;-)
Jennifer Bernard Well, I'm not that great of an advance planner, so I'd say the characters led me to it. I loved the idea of a Christmas novella, and I wanted to end the series with a big fire emergency that pulls them all together. That was about all I had planned, until I started writing. And actually, the novella I first started writing was very different. The idea of Mulligan being trapped in a Christmas store came halfway through and made me rewrite the whole thing! You just never know when it comes to writing.
Jennifer Bernard Hi Wendy! So glad you got to read an eARC of All of Me! Right now, three books are planned. I just finished writing book 2, and will start the 3rd soon. But since there's an entire baseball team in these books, the potential for more is there. We'll just have to see! As for the firemen visiting the ballpark, I've tried to think of a graceful way to have that happen, but the team is in Texas and the firehouse in SoCal, and hasn't seemed to work into the stories -- yet! But I will try my best, because I do love that idea. :-)
Jennifer Bernard Hi Lynn! First of all, I'm a huge baseball fan from way back. I'd had this idea about a minor league team for a while, and when I was thinking about what would be a nice segue from firemen, this idea popped into my head. There's a similarity, because both groups have that friendly, teasing, almost brotherly bond. I like writing about strong alpha men who have a tender side, I like writing banter and fun dialogue, not to mention sexy chemistry, and a baseball team fits with that perfectly. Baseball players are perfect for romance because they're sexy, first of all. They're fascinating because they don't live normal lives -- they live on the edge, constantly having to prove themselves. They have to be very mentally strong, as well as physically, to withstand the pressure of such a demanding career. I find them incredibly appealing and I hope readers do too. :-)
Jennifer Bernard Hi Jennifer! That is a very tough question, because there are so many authors who have influenced me. I have to say that Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a huge inspiration. But the books that first made me fall in love with romance were by Georgette Heyer. Even though she wrote Regencies, I loved the lightheartedness of her stories, and the absolutely perfect characterization. Her books didn't show anything beyond maybe a kiss at the very end, but still managed to be utterly romantic. What I love most in my favorite books is wonderful sexual tension and chemistry. That's what I want to bring to the page, too. It's a magical thing, and very hard to achieve, and I'm never really sure if I've managed to do it. I guess it depends on the reader! :-)
Jennifer Bernard Hey Wendy! I think the way it works is I just pop on at least once a day and answer some questions. :-) I don't think there's a set time.
