Rudolf Kremers I struggle to keep my stories under 3000 words, let alone two sentences, so I'm going to ponder this for a bit and then post an update when I have figured out an answer.

Ahem.
Rudolf Kremers When I was young I saw ghosts all the time, and was quite seriously synesthetic. Both have gone away, but I feel I could have fun exploring the lost origins of these things.
Rudolf Kremers A single sentence from a China Mieville story.
Rudolf Kremers My brain just throws mad things at me that often feel intriguing enough to explore, OR I stumble across a small germ of a story in other ways. Articles, films, other books, people ... all kinds of things can trigger a story.
Rudolf Kremers My third novel "Destrier" (working tile) which is a sexy grotesque fantasy horror adventure type thing.
Rudolf Kremers All first (and most early) drafts are crap. Just embrace that, don't worry about it, and get it on the page. It is much easier to make something better, than it is to make something to begin with.

50% of writing is hammering away at what you've thrown at the page until it's no longer terrible. Pretty much all writers hate their own work at the start. Just work at it and polish it till it shines.
Rudolf Kremers Simple: you get to have unlimited budget to create your own worlds, and then you get to play god with it, and its inhabitants.
Rudolf Kremers I don't really suffer writer's block, but when I struggle to get good stuff on the page I research or plot or outline or work on other ideas. There's always a ton to do. I think writer's block is real, and a massive problem for many people, but I haven't got a lot of time to write, so when I do I tend to be ready.
Rudolf Kremers Iain M. Banks Culture's Earth. I'd use it as a starting point to become an intergalactic novelist/xeno-archaelogist.
Rudolf Kremers Too many to list here without becoming tedious, BUT, I am very much deep into Tanith Lee's work right now. Incredible stuff, and pairs well with Clive Barker and (funny enough ) Jack Vance.

Reading plenty of current writers too, but as I said, can't list em all.
