Thanks for the interesting question. I believe we are a product of our environment, learning, experiences, and upbringing. An idea may be inspired, and perhaps many ideas are inspired over generations.
That particular quote was not "lifted" from anywhere, but there are many version of that metaphor in the world. This particular way I wrote it in my books, is mine.
I've indeed spent many years in and around Chinese culture, so perhaps what I learned there, inspired me.
Hope that helps, and I hope you enjoyed reading my work.

Great question. The book has been started, but the film adaptation work has taken precedence due to deadlines and events. Expect Mind Jacked as the next book, and then it's all focus on Legends IV. Can't wait to finish out the series with a satisfying bang.

Just discovered this question :) When are more anthologies coming? I may do them annually... so I'll keep you posted. I'm currently writing Mind Jacked, the sequel to Dusted Dreams

Great and interesting question. I grew up with a lot of fantasy movies, and started reading fantasy when I was a teenager. The first fantasy novels I read was the Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb. I loved the books!
I also spent many years playing video games. Certainly not as much these days.
Legends of Marithia was spawned by all the things I love about fantasy, and a story that was mulling around my brain for many years. Characters and situations were inspired by many things, people, events, etc. Finally, I can call the War of Prophecies (Books I-III) trilogy done.
Interestingly, the story I had planned, and the story I ended up with, are different in so many ways.
My next project is a sci-fi novel, and that was inspired by many things such as The Walking Dead, alien invasion movies, my love of technology, and an old TV show called "Quantum Leap"
Stay tuned!

I'm almost finished with the edit of Legends of Marithia: Darkness Rising (2014 edition), and am also working on a comic adaptation of Legends of Marithia: Prophecies Awakening, as well as some other side projects.
Legends of Marithia III is mostly written, and waiting for me to dive into, and my sci-fi book, Mind Jacked, is begging for attention.
Lots of great things will come
