Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

Kami Garcia Thirteen bodies were buried in the basement of the house on Crown Drive. I killed them all, except for one.

I love graphic novels. How do you find working as a writer in this format? What is the biggest challenge over a novel?

Kami Garcia Writing graphic novels is much easier for me on every level. I visualize my novels as I write them and I love writing dialogue, both of which naturally lend themselves to the graphic novel format. I also write very lean first drafts without a lot of fluff so that made the transition easier as well.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kami Garcia I love playing in new worlds and inventing new characters. It’s also so much fun to meet the writers I love as a reader.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kami Garcia Finish writing the draft even if you think it sucks. You can’t fix something unless you finish and it’s important to learn how to finish.

Hi Kami! This novel was great! I can't wait for part three! My question: What happened to Chapters 11 and 12? In my copy, it's just chapter 10, and then thirty-two pages later Chapter 13. I've looked all over those thirty-two pages for chapter titles. I assume it's a misprint, but I'm still curious what the chapter titles were and what pages they were supposed to land on. Thanks! :D

What are you currently working on?

Kami Garcia I just finished writing the graphic novel TEEN TITANS: BEAST BOY LOVES RAVEN. I’m also writing an adult comic book series for DC Black Label called JOKER/HARLEY: CRIMINAL SANITY. It’s a serial killer mystery that features Harley as a forensic psychiatrist and profiler.
