Bree Aguiar None of them! Most fictional worlds, especially in the books I read, are pretty scary. The lands of Wheel of Time and the planets in Dune, for instance, are gorgeous but constantly under threat of war and evil tyrants. If I HAD to pick, I'd definitely choose The Shire, but only to live out Bilbo's 111th birthday every day. Any day after that starts to lead into the evil tyranny territory, so I would generally avoid it.
Bree Aguiar I have been reading a LOT of fantasy lately, but I am trying to catch up with some contemporary fiction that has been taking off, like the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and People We Meet on Vacation. In between that, I will be continuing my first time read through of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's Wheel of Time novels.
Bree Aguiar Gatehouse started because I actually had a dream about a very specific moment between two people. When I woke up, I knew I had to write a story that would lead up to that scene. I had no idea about who the characters were, what world they lived in, or how they got there. I just decided to start writing... and out came Gatehouse. The most ironic part was that I never made it to that scene in the book! But there may be room for it in a potential sequel...
