He yawned, plodding to the bathroom like a robot, taking care not to step on Newton as the cat slinked in between his legs, and doing his best to wake up by reciting code sections quietly to himself. Still pleased with his recent decision to buy a heated toilet seat, he sat in comfort and continued his recitation when the cat retched, its body contracting until a finger, covered in bile, landed on the bath mat where it curled in and out signaling to him to draw near.

My first choice would be the Land of Oz and my second would be one of the world’s Piers Anthony created. I would love to show the flying monkey kindness and love, though that’s assuming based on the wicked witch's overall personality that she shows them none, and talk to the apple trees in Oz, or talk to ogres and fauns in Anthony’s worlds. To learn about their lives, share puns, and to see fantastic flora like none we have here. I think that would be fun.

I always have lots of story ideas and choosing the next one to focus on is difficult. It's a combination of listening very carefully to each character, working on their story until a different character steps up. Eventually, one will be louder than the others and will whisk me away.

Writers block can be a challenge. For me, there are many different cures. Sometimes it's listening to some music I like or walking along the river nearby, anything to calm my mind and allow my thoughts to drift in space. Other times, though, a nice bowl of ice cream does the trick.
