I've heard countless times that you should only write for your audience and other times I've heard that you should only write for yourself. I think you need to do a bit of both. It is important to remember your audience but if you don't like your own story, what makes you think other people will?

I don't ever tell people that writer's block doesn't exist. It does and it can be depressing and devastating. But what gets me through it is taking some time off of writing and taking up a hobby or something that is unrelated to writing to get my mind off of it. To try to avoid getting blocks I change up the method of writing, like instead of writing in a linear fashion, I'll write a scene from the book that interests me at this moment. I'll also write by hand, and change the setting of where I'm working. Sometimes I'll go outside and take in nature. When I feel writer's block coming on, I end up going onto Pinterest and start pinning random things I find funny or inspirational. I feel a story can't be rushed or forced, otherwise, it can't reach its full potential, so sometimes writer's block just needs to play itself out.

I'm currently working on a high fantasy adventure series that's like a D&D campaign but at the scale of Lord of the Rings with women.

Obviously I'd go to Hogwarts. I'd totally spend my time sneaking into the Room of Requirement to get some privacy to read non-school related books. I'd also probably become a teachers pet to Professor McGonagall and transfigure myself into a cat.
