Rory McFarlan The best thing about being a writer is having a creative outlet to express myself. As an indie author, I don't know if I will ever make money from this, but if I my words can make even one person feel something, it is worth it.
Rory McFarlan A series that deals with mental illness and sexual abuse. Both are important topics to me and I am excited to share the story. I expect to release the series by the end of the year.
Rory McFarlan I just push through and continue writing, even if it is terrible. It usually gets me past the block. I can always fix it later in editing. If I am really stuck, I switch to another part of the story or a different story altogether for a while.
Rory McFarlan I love the writing of Thomas Hardy and re-read at least one of his books every year. This summer, I will read Return of the Native. I will also read Testament by Margaret Atwood and Thunderhead, the second book in the Arc of the Sythe series. The rest of my reading list is filled with books by indie authors, as I prefer to support the work of unknown artists.
