Laura Huang I think intuition shows up in both small and big decisions, though in different ways. In everyday choices, like which route to take to work or who to sit next to at a conference, it often operates quietly, almost like background music. Those small nudges can create ripple effects you don’t notice until later.

In bigger decisions, such as career moves, relationships, or investments, intuition tends to feel louder and more urgent. What’s fascinating is that research shows our gut is often most reliable in areas where we’ve built up experience. So if you’ve been in your field for years, your intuition about a career leap may be sharper than you realize.
Laura Huang I wrote You Already Know: The Science of Mastering Your Intuition because I’ve always been fascinated by those moments when we just know, even before we can explain why. Over and over in my research and in my own life, I saw that intuition wasn’t magic or guesswork. It was something people could actually cultivate, refine, and strengthen, just like any other skill.

I wanted to challenge the myth that intuition is either unreliable or some mystical sixth sense. In the book, I explore the science behind gut feelings, share stories of people who’ve learned to trust theirs, and show how anyone can build their own decision-making edge by shaping intuition.
