I don't really make a summer reading list. I have a stack of physical books from which I sometimes grab. Other times, I pull from my kindle, or whatever is coming across my feed. I read a lot of indie or small press books.

The idea for Camp Lenape came from my experience at a summer camp at which I worked several summers ago. This, combined with years of experience attending day and overnight summer camps.
Most importantly, it was my aim to write a fast-paced story with interesting characters that middle and high school students would enjoy reading.

The vast majority of what I write is for my eyes only. I write when I'm inspired. I also write when I'm uninspired and know that I desperately need the practice. But, inspiration to write comes from many sources: the books I read, the people I meet, and prompts, to name a few.

Become a student of human behavior. Observe everything and everyone around you. Read regularly and find time to reflect, free write, or even scribble each week. It doesn't have to be every day. For me, the moment I commit to every day is the moment writing feels like a chore.

Currently, I'm working on a second book to create a series to Camp Lenape. I am also revising a finished manuscript.
