Hi Kelly, my name is Pete Scott and I'm an American professional voice over artist living abroad. I'd like to audition for your audiobook. However, as I'm not a current resident of the States, I can't through ACX. I'd be willing to do it through you personally if you're interested. Are you?You can look at my simple site (www.psvoice.net) to get my email and we can proceed from there. Hope to hear back, Pete
Kelly Curtis People question whether or not technology is good for our mental and physical health and it's only recently that studies are beginning to show that actually technology is detrimental in quite a few ways. I feel this could be just the tip of the iceberg. In my series of books, which will probably be called 'Unification', humans have abandoned almost all personal technology in their daily lives, from cars, to mobile phones, computers, etc. And although universal credits are important, an individual's social standing in the community is just as important. In this way, events happen only in real time with face to face communication. For example, in the book, there are no more newspapers or news broadcasts. The news is reported by people in person to smaller groups of people. Of course, this brings its own issues with it, but it is a representation of how these humans feel, that all communication with technology, including the written word, is suspicious and inauthentic. I wanted to take this idea of abandoning technology as far as I could, but still at the same time make the world believable. There is communal technology that is monitored, and free public high speed trains and all, but otherwise people are living a more quaint lifestyle with possibly more meaningful relationships. The latter will be up to the readers to decide.
