Renée A. Moses I think I got it from a song, but I can't remember which one. Whenever I hear a great song, the story-telling kind, I can see scenes in my mind. I write down notes about what I thought until I can figure out an entire story. This book came from a brief note I wrote in Evernote. I smile every time I see it now. The note was called Two Wrongs.
Renée A. Moses Not to be cheesy, but my momma. She inspires me to do it. She always told me I'd be a great writer someday. I didn't believe it until I fell in love with writing for myself. Knowing that I have her in my audience, I will always have a reason to keep writing. The best feeling in the world is when she finishes a chapter and calls me asking questions or try to guess what will happen next. It's a great motivator for me to write more and more.
Renée A. Moses I am working on the second installment of a series, The Wrong Turns in Love. It's called Making a Hard Right. I am also planning some short stories for the upcoming holidays for my site.
Renée A. Moses Just do it. I've been wanting to pursue writing (in public) for over ten years and never took the leap. With so many excuses for why not this year or that year, I decided I wasn't going to keep torturing myself by putting it off any longer. If this is you, just do it. Put your all in it if it's truly your passion and share your stories with the world. What's the worst that could happen? If you have an answer to that question, it will all go away once you hold your published work in your hands :)
Renée A. Moses Creative freedom! It feels like I can be different people all at the same time. I get to tell a story that I feel is worth telling and nobody can tell me I can't. There are so many stories in my head with these characters and crazy situations. Being able to put it down and see it on paper is the best part of the creative process.
Renée A. Moses I don't get blocked too often because I plan ahead with the topic of my chapters to make sure I always know what needs to be written. I do get overwhelmed with the to-do list in my mind that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with writing and it distracts me when I'm sitting at the computer. So, I play music by Sammie, Mya, Monica, or someone like that. And if I really need to clear my mind, I lean on gospel with Travis Greene or Jonathan McReynolds. Music helps me get things going, especially if I sing along.
