Tara Leigh I don't know that I've experienced writer's block ... but plotter's block—definitely! It's tough to put my characters in situation that move the story forward, increase the tension, AND stray from the expected. I usually walk around and mumble to myself, trying to figure out what I need to get on the page. I might pull out a craft book or a plotting worksheet and break down what I have, trying to spot what isn't working.
If that doesn't work, what I usually need is a clear head of my own or fresh eyes. I might take a break entirely to watch a movie or tv show, or read a book I've had on my tbr. Anything with good storytelling. If I think I need fresh eyes, I will reach out to an editor or book blogger I respect and talk the through the scene/story arc with them.
Tara Leigh Hmmm... not sure that would use that word for the daily grind that is getting words on a page. I would say that I feel inspired most during the outlining phase, or when putting together a series pitch to my agent and/or publisher. That's when anything seems possible and my characters are like fireflies on a summer evening- beautiful and tempting. Once I sit down to actually write their story... that's work.
Tara Leigh Not having to get out of my pjs to go to work.

Tara Leigh Risk Taker, Book 3 of the Billionaire Bosses series.
Tara Leigh I was inspired to write the outline for my Billionaire Bosses series in an Uber on my way home from RWA2015. At that conference, I really thought about what I could bring to a book that was different from other autors, and for me that was the sexy side of Wall Street. Alpha billionaires with big ambitions and bigger egos. Heroines who are just a smart and driven, and make their men work hard for their HEA.
