Lynn Mcpherson I have a set time I write. Mornings tend to be my most alert times so I generally set aside 2-3 hours then where I sit down and stare at the screen. If I find I don't have anything to write, I might go back and review a scene from earlier in the book or take notes on what I'd like to see happen further along in the story. Usually that will get my focus back in line. Later on in the day, once I have started focusing on a certain scene or even conversation, I find it easier to finish, even if I'm a little more tired. I don't like to leave scenes half finished.
Lynn Mcpherson I get to create the world I work in. As a cozy writer, I don't shed many tears over the victims and I get to have a whole group of fun, witty women willing to hang out with me whenever I choose. It's the best job I've ever had.
Lynn Mcpherson The inspiration comes more and more from the characters themselves. I almost feel like I'm just writing down where the characters lead me. I have an overall idea of the beginning, middle, and end but the pages are filled with scenes and conversations that seem to develop organically. Izzy, Ava, Mary, and Jo are strong women. It doesn't take much urging from me to get them started!
Lynn Mcpherson I'm working on the second book in the Izzy Walsh Mystery Series. Izzy and the gang find that, once again, they are right in the middle of a murder. I'm almost done the first draft but there's still a lot of work to be done.
