Actually no. My inspiration is drawn from what I see and not really what I read. I recently visited Europe again and I always take some time to visit some of the local restaurants and cafes. I tend to draw my inspiration from watching people.

I try to tell the whole story and there is more to the story than what happens in the bedroom. I want to know what the characters are thinking before they go into the bedroom. It sounds predictable as I have been told, but I prefer relationships over the quickie in the back of the car. Of course I write about the quickies all the time, the reader just knows more about the characters before they do it.

They are entitled to their opinion, good or bad. The recent comments I received on my blog site were not surprising because I generally receive some negative comments via twitter as private messages, but this one was out there on the blog site for all to see.
I also receive criticism that is much more constructive than hateful. I have a number of colleagues who have reviewed my work and provided feedback on how to improve my writing - identifying errors or offering vocabulary changes. These I never consider negative although others might think so.

This is a good question. I guess because I am including the graphic blow by blow in the bedroom. I think the other reason is because of the sexual preference and lifestyle I that I write about. It is a part of me and that is what I know. I am living the story through the character's eyes and this is what I see.

I walk away and do something else... eventually the block will subside... remember there is no time limit on how long it takes to write something.

the feedback - I love hearing from readers of my work. Good bad or indifferent. the reader motivates me and inspires me.

Keep writing. you are going to write things that readers are not going to agree with and you yourself will walk away from a piece of work that you liked at one point and find difficult to read later. It's okay... keep writing.

Strangely enough, I find inspiration from true life experiences - stories that are filled with excitement are extensions of my current emotional state... as are the low points. Even when I am down I find it relaxing and motivating to write... even if it is just storyboard ideas.

My most recent book "The Assistant" has been an story I have wanted to write for sometime. It was a combination of true life and fantasy. I had an assistant who I hired while in corporate america and let's just say things got a little exciting.
