Mark E. Fisher Without a doubt, it would be to visit Lady Galadriel in Lothlorien in Middle Earth. I would arrive before all left for The Grey Havens, and before Frodo arrived on his fateful mission to Mordor. There I would don elvish robes, eat at an elvish table, and listen to elvish lore until it was time to return from whence I came.
Mark E. Fisher Sure. Thought I'd answered this a while ago. Sorry it didn't take.
Mark E. Fisher What's the best thing about being a writer? I guess it's being able to create new worlds. Taking the reader to places far removed in time, culture, and geography. Such a world can be historical, from an era long past, that when we look on it today, appears as foreign to us as if we'd landed on a distant planet. A place where the rules, attitudes, culture, and people are different. Yet through the differences, we see the universality of the human experience under God. Such a place can also be a fantasy world. Yet even a fantasy world can be based on long-forgotten eras and cultures, turned and twisted to intrigue, delight, and enlighten us. So I guess I'm saying it's the process of creation, being able to create, and the sheer fun of writing, living in, and presenting this creation to the reader. In other words, the writer can have even more fun creating such a story as the reader has reading it.
Mark E. Fisher Write. Edit what you write. Then edit it again. Then hire an editor to edit what you edited. Then take your work to a Writer's Conference. That's the only place you can meet publishers and agents face-to-face and pitch your work, find out what they're interested in, and learn this business. It is a business. And don't forget about your social media platform.
Mark E. Fisher I go on long walks. I read other writers. And I mull over what I've already written.
Mark E. Fisher It started out as a fantasy, a short story about a girl on an island. Then it morphed into a novella, and the island was off the coast of ancient Ireland. Then St. Patrick appeared, and the whole thing changed into the full length novel you see today.
Mark E. Fisher Reading history. Reading other writers. Walking my dog and mulling over what I've already written. Watching classic movies. And then just sitting down to write, inspiration or no.
Mark E. Fisher THE AMULET, a sequel to THE BONFIRES OF BELTANE.

Only Ty, the son of the famous Taran, can save the clan as the druids rise again. But something calls him across the sea to Gaul to search for a sister everyone says is dead. But how will that save his clan?
