Lucinda! I loved The Perfect Child - 5 Stars, full review coming soon! My question - do you find it difficult to write about fictionalized trauma, while also treating it in the real world? The Perfect Child is intense, and I'm wondering how you resolve your two worlds of writing and psychology.
Lucinda Berry Not at all. In some ways, writing was the way that I coped. I always have control over the story. I don't ever have control over the trauma in real life.

Do you only have 5 books published? I have read all 5 of them and you are officially my new favorite author. You are so talented! But now what am I going to read? Nothing will ever compare!!!

Hello Lucinda, First, I'd like to thank you for the mind-blowing rollercoaster ride you took me on with "The Perfect Child". It really left an everlasting impact on me! I would like to ask the ending of the book. Beyond reasoning of suspense, I would love to know your thoughts on how the ending came to a stop at that point? I am still wondering about Hannah & Christopher's relationship and what happens to Janie?
Lucinda Berry Readers either loved or hated the ending of The Perfect Child. The original version of The Perfect Child had an epilogue but we ended up taking it out. I didn't want to tie things up. I wanted people to feel exactly as you felt-like you'd just gotten off a rollercoaster and been slammed to a stop after a wild ride. I also knew that I didn't want to end their story because there were so many different angles that I wanted to leave open for potential sequels. And there will be more so stay tuned!

Lucinda Berry The Perfect Child is a standalone. The next book I wrote was When She Returned. My most recent release in The Best of Friends. Happy reading!

just listened to saving noah audiobook on audible and loved it so much, i am also closing in on the end of the perfect child ( 3 hours left ) but worried since many think it end suddenly. my question is why are many of your old books just now being released as audiobooks ? when i read the synopsis of saving noah on audible i knew i wanted to listen to it and pre orderd it, when it ended it was a 5 star listen for me
Lucinda Berry I'm so glad you're enjoying my work on audible! I've got lots of fun stuff coming up on audible so stay tuned! My backlist all just received new audio versions.

LOVING 'When She Returned.' Are you a plotter or seat-of-the-pantser? Great work!
Lucinda Berry It depends on the book. Each book is different and I have no idea why. Sometimes I get an idea and feel the need to plot it all down. Other times, I get a scene and just go. Appetite for Innocence happened that way. I got a scene in my head and took off. The book was done in three and a half weeks! I mean, not in a form that I'd show anyone, but the rough draft was complete.

Your books are amazing. I love non traditional mystery/thriller (as in, not just a whodunit murder mystery). Are you planning on writing more? What inspires you.
Lucinda Berry Thanks so much! Yes, I plan to write stories for as long as people will read them! THE SECRETS OF US comes out soon and I'm so excited for my readers to get their hands on it. I think it's my best work yet!

Lucinda Berry It has to do with an incident of sexual violence at prom during high school. It was left intentionally vague so that readers are left to wonder and draw their own conclusions.
