Elizabeth Haran Writing is something I do every day. I find inspiration in corresponding with my readers, or from watching a film or reading a book. My imagination is always running wild. I'm also inspired by the history of places I visit.
Elizabeth Haran I'm just finishing the last chapter of a book set in the Northern Territory. THE CAPRICORN SUN.
The subject is close to my heart. The conservation of African animals, elephants and rhinos. I was born in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) where the book begins, so to write about that country and Australia, my home for more than fifty years, has been been a joy.
Elizabeth Haran Believe in yourself. Never give up. Work every day, or at least five days a week. Read a lot.
Elizabeth Haran I love being able to work from home, and being able to use my imagination. I find it exciting when embarking on a new book. The possibilities are endless. I also love getting feed back from readers, especially if they have enjoyed one of my books. It's inspiring.
Elizabeth Haran To be honest, I've never had writer's block. I do a detailed outline of every new book and show it to my publisher, usually about 14 pages. We discuss it and then agree upon a final draft and then I begin writing. So I always know where I am going.
