A review of my novel, "The Adored.""The Adored" is by its summary just another story of good triumphing over evil, a hard-won victory of the downtrodden, an everybody-loves-karma retelling. Do not be dissuaded by initial appearances. This complex novel begins somewhat slowly, causing the reader to wonder how much effort will be required to slog through three or four detail-rich, seemingly unrelated stories before either getting to the point of the whole thing, or giving up. But, just as the eyes take in the words of yet another "back story" of yet another newly-introduced character and setting, the mind begins to weave the threads of connection among them. It is this tapestry of interconnection that feeds the engrossing need to keep reading, capturing and tangling you, and making it nearly impossible *not* to get to the end in one sitting. This is a book I will most likely read again and again, and share with friends, not only for the overall "moral of the story" and happy ending, but for the enjoyment of the page-to-page reading, with its wealth of descriptive detail, fluid storytelling, and engaging characterization.
