Its fantasy but not the type you may expect. I aim to twist and change fantasy as much as possible, from making the villains more welcoming and reasonable to changing every creature which is commonly associated to fantasy, or removing them entirely. This novelette follows the story of a boy who falls in love, but ends with disaster.

A US Marine and his team are given orders to go another military unit on the west coast. They get on a C-5 and wake up in Kuwait. This isn't what they expected. All of the sudden, they find themselves in the middle of the buildup for the Invasion of Iraq. An act of terrorism on a Kuwaiti highway makes them realize how serious this really is. This isn't a training operation, they're going to war.
