I think the author leaves things uncleat to the readers and to the Richardsons deliberatley becuase throughout the book, the Richardsons never examined facts or circumstances well. They lived their lives being "good" and doing "right" with a superficial picture of waht a good life is. They believed they were "good" yet never supported Izzy (tortured her? emotionally), actively sought to get information to hurt Mia and so forth. Mia and Pearl were cast as poor, "not good' perhaps by societie's standards yet supported and cared for each other and were a very functional family. Mr;s Richardson will set out to find Izzy becuase she blieves this is what a good mother would do but she's doing it to meet the image she has not becuase she values Izzy or s a caring parent.

Linda I disliked Mrs. Richardson from the beginning- she seemed like a “know it all mean girl from high school” several times I just wanted to smack her or at least call her out . . . 😆

Julie I COMPLETELY agree!! There are so many pieces of this book that were just wrapped up so quickly that it gave it little development and made me question the reason it was even in the book.
I though there should have been more development in Trip and Pearl's relationship because with the exception of one paragraph towards the end, nothing was said about how they truly felt about each other, especially Trip.
And for the relationship between Brian and Lexie to end so quickly seemed unrealistic.
It also could have been more detailed how Pearl reacted to her history--and didn't she want to meet her father and grandparents? What was the point of Elena digging up dirt on Mia's past when nothing came of it?
And, what was the point of the adoption/custody battle?? That could have been eliminated from the book and the plot would have still made sense. Bebe ended up getting her child back anyway, and the McCullough's adopted from China.
This book was so full of fluff with nothing to show for it at the end.
