[close] I have just ghosted Martin Offiah's latest book, 50 Of The Best. It's his personal selection of fifty of the best tries scored in rugby league in the last thirty years. There’s several of his own scores, but most are by other great names from the sport.

Martin Offiah was and remains the most prolific try scorer in the modern era of British rugby league. He scored 501 tries in a career that lasted 14 years. After playing rugby union with Rosslyn Park, he turned to league because he wanted to become a professional sportsman.

He began his playing career with Widnes in 1987 and had four years with Wigan from 1992. He played alongside such legends as Jonathan Davies, Ellery Hanley and Shaun Edwards. He then had seasons with the London Broncos and finished his time in the game with Salford City Reds.
