Jan I simply adore this book. I have been reading it OUT LOUD, in the closest I can come to a British accent, to my 96 year old mother. Not sure why exactly I am doing this but it is therapeutic. This book is "utterly extraordinary". The descriptions are amazing and somehow, when I read a book lately, it mirrors what I am going through at the time. This book is actually altering my own voice and connecting me to my roots. Please keep writing....

I just had to smile inwardly when I read that you are reading this aloud in a British accent. I too was inspired to read this aloud. I've no one other than a puggle to read to, but I can't help it. And I have to agree, it has been quite therapeutic. I'm just past half way through the novel presently, and am wondering if I'll continue reading other novels aloud or not...Or is it just something special about this particular novel. It's under my skin, I know that much.
