323002 Moderation is wisdom. <3

89519 Yes, except that I have this problem where my "own" shelf keeps getting bigger without me ever making any inroads, because, I fear, I am becoming A Book Hoarder. Who needs the library if I can just go buy Chris Adrian and DFW from Amazon and use my credit card, says I! ("Moderation"? What is this word you are saying?)

323002 Our shelves are in danger of falling over and crushing the dog. You're right, there is no moderation ex libris.

89519 Oh dear, that made me laugh. Poor Finny!

I have a pathetic stumpy overflowing little non-bookshelf in my room and my mother is so appalled by the ten-strong stacks of books covering every surface that not only are we soon going to re-paint my cat-scratched-to-the-drywall walls and rip out my unspeakably hideous filthy carpet, but I might get a full-sized bookshelf out of the deal, too! Suspect there will barely be enough room for it and I to coexist in my tiny box of a bedroom at the same time, hardly care.

1897227 (grateful mother is not around to be appalled at book-stacking habits; shuffle the stacks around regularly so that husband will not complain and will understand that these stacks are Important, but then he has other stacks and is not really a complainer.)

323002 Finny indeed lives in constant peril, as do we if there is ever an earthquake. Anyway we'll all die happy, clocked on the head by some massive cactus encylopedia or edition of Milton or another.

Oooh ooooh oooh get a bookshelf! Do it! The Professoressa finally caved in a few years ago and had them handsomely installed in her study, replacing the rickety limb-endangering stacks etc., which has now rendered same study the room I most envy in this world—well, after the BL Reading Room OBVIOUSEMENT.

89519 All this talk about bookshelves makes me think I should dig up the pretty, pretty, pretty library photos that I find on Tumblr and bookmark to drool over later. Perhaps tomorrow can be a Theme Day. (I just googled the BL RR and will have pithy things to say about the gorgeous pretty bookstuffs after I'm finished being STUPEFIED by those windows OMG.)

323002 LIBRARY PR0N DAY! Bring it, lady.

message 9: by AB (new)

89519 I believe it has been brought, and Candida Hofer, who took all those pictures up on my tumblr, hath brought it: http://www.amazon.com/Libraries-Candida-...
