Jamie Oh, nice! I'm about two-thirds through the book, now. I've always avoided Charlotte (possibly because Emily's Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite novels of all time), but I'm really enjoying Jane Eyre on my first read! Have you read it before?

C. No, I haven't! But I am very impressed by how good it is. I really need to read Wuthering Heights too.

Jamie Yeah, we should chat further about Jane once we're both finished! And definitely get on the Wuthering Heights train. I find it's a very polarizing novel--people typically either fall head over heels or completely revile it. Now that I'm finally reading Jane Eyre I can see the family resemblance (I'd only ever read, besides Emily, Anne's Tenant of Wildfell Hall, which is quite different from WH, but perhaps closer to Jane Eyre)--but WH is a much more raw, blasphemous novel.
