The only interesting thing about this so far is the fact that the hero has a regular construction job to support himself and his vampire killing mission. That and the fact that we saw that he lied about staying clean from a certain bad habit.

"The eagerness of a child lit her haze. "You mean it?" she asked, sliding off the bed. Like every woman, she responded to the enticement of food and shopping. It seemed to be something hardwired into every female on the face of the planet."

-You must be joking.

And now they've almost had sex. How did we get to this point? They just met and for some reason they decided to share the bed that night. (dumb move for a guy who just met her and knows she's infected) They wake up and start getting their freak on. Where's the motivation? Where's the plot?

I need help because I make horrible mistakes. You better stay away from me f*cker, I'm leaving! Wait, you're hot. You better not think you're getting in my pants, f*cker! Oh you want to help me? Well f*ck you, I don't trust easy! But I'm really lonely and need someone to share my pain.

-Does that spastic back and forth irritate you? It does me. That's the heroine so far. :(

Something about the writing is rubbing me wrong. I can't put my finger on what it is, though.

Kelly Life is too short, you know?

Catherine No kidding. I just wasn't in the mood to slog through it.

Kelly Reading your earlier updates. I actually ran into a similar sex-too-soon problem with Quinn, in Siren's Call. I got about 80 pages in, and the hero and heroine had gotten emotionally vulnerable with each other and had teh sexxorin, and the book just felt...done. Like it had been a nice little novella. I never did keep reading, even though I've heard there's more plot after that. It just felt tied up already.

They didn't have sex yet, they cut it off. But it all felt too soon and too unmotivated, you know? Too bad you had it with Siren's Call. I'm just starting to think her writing style isn't for me.
