Great elevator dialogue; a lot of stuff that Wallace has said in previous interviews re capitalism, democracy, sublimation of counterculture, liberal scapegoating, etc. It's really picking up speed right now.

A) The book is designed beautifully. B) I cried while reading Pietsch's editor's note. C) I'm already completely immersed; Ken Erdedy-style: holed up in my room with a bottomless cup of coffee, a notepad, and Phillip Glass, Erik Satie, and J.S. Bach. D) I miss David; like miss David as in the way I would miss a close friend who isn't here anymore. E) Regardless, I'm so happy to be reading this right now.
