Oh my god, this narrator has to be the worst ever, she made Bones sound like a weaselly old man with a sinus problem. No go on the audiobook version, back to paperback. Since I have other books I'm currently reading right now, it will have to wait a few days. damn.

I cried..again. Will there ever be a sad scene where I won't cry?

Ok, I so love this book. Sure, the action is a bit slow but I love being a part of Bones and Cat's relationship. Chapter 21 was hot. The other chapter (forgot which one) where Cat wasn't exactly Cat and Mencheres had to help "restrain" her was too funny. I love this series and I'm so happy that I read it in spite of the not so good reviews.

I like the book. I guess I expected less but I just enjoy the interactions between Bones and Cat. I love Cat's snarky attitude and Bones utter devotion to Cat.

I'm now reading this instead of listening on audiobook. Much better! a bit slow but better.

decided to do audiobook and take my time with this one. I love this series so I wanted to sit back and enjoy. I've heard all the rumors on how it is slow and not as good but there is not much that could keep from loving Bones.

Catherine I'm honestly surprised they didn't recruit James Marsters to voice Bones. Because a blind man could see where the inspiration for his character came from. And James Marsters does audiobook work anyway. He does a marvelous job as the voice of Harry Dresden.

Catherine, my dog could have done a better impression of Bones than the chick they picked. I was SOOOO annoyed.

I swear I'm only going to get audiobooks from narrators that I'm familiar with. That is two books in a row (Into the Wilderness and This Side of the Grave) where the narrators were so bad I either stopped listening to the audiobook or endured it with a frown on my face.

I think Davina Porter has ruined me when it comes to audiobooks. Her narration of the entire Outlander series is so incredible that I expect the same of other audiobooks.

Catherine Years ago I tried out a couple online demos of the Anita Blake series. My husband read the the first book and liked it, but he finds reading tedious. (But he enjoys audiobooks)

I was all set to buy it, but then I heard the narrator do Jean-Claudes voice. Could she make him sound any more like a girl??? My husband heard the clip and busted up laughing.

Oh well, he enjoys the Stephanie Plum narrator and Harry Dresden narrator.

The narrators are everything for an audiobook. I love audiobooks. If I'm driving, I'm listening to my audiobooks. However, if the narrator is bad, I'll daydream rather than enjoy the book.

I've decided I'm going to take advantage of the samples offered by audible.com so I can hear the narrator first (if I'm not familiar with the narrator). Otherwise, I'll be annoyed as all hell when I download an entire book only to hate the narrator so much I won't continue with the audiobook.

Catherine Sounds like a good plan. Definitely don't want to waste your money on someone you can't stand to listen to.

Fani I only listened to the first audiobook -and book- of the series and never moved to the second, because of how awful the narrator was. She 'killed' Bones for me and made me completely indiferent to him:( The reviews for this narrator/audiobook are universally bad; I wonder why they don't do a second version.

I can't believe I was so stupid and ignored all the reviews on the Narrator. I'm so annoyed with myself. I can see how your views on Bones was influenced by the Narrator. She did his voice so bad I stopped the audiobook within one minute of hearing her attempt at his voice.

Fani I did the same mistake myself Michelle if it's any consolation:)
