I don't think Dougal got Laoghaire pregnant. Think it was Geilie.

The Flooze Who is the Dougal?? Why shouldn't we like him?

So, would you recommend so far?

Mel I would recommend it so far. It isn't for everybody: it's a very long story and not very fast but I think it's just right. It reads like a mix of historical adventure and romance. I heard some people didn't like the first 100 something pages before the happy coupple got involved but I enjoyed that part too: we read about how Claire handles being thrown back in time. How she's first shocked, then scared and then starts finding her own place in 18th century life.

The romance is very different too. Without spoiling too much: things worked differently then and that's very apparent. The couple needs to get to know each other and they each have many secrets for each other. Plus Claire has that husband in the 19th century to think about.
I'm liking it.
Oh and Dougal is Conal's brother. Now it makes sense right? ;)

The Flooze Not in the slightest, but it sounds good! Can't wait for the review!

Laura Lulu For me, the slightly boring part was before she went back through the stones--I didn't need her and Jamie to hook up for it to get exciting, just her landing on her ass 200 years in the past was when it started getting good. :)

It is an investment read, both time wise and emotionally. But, at least in my humble little opinion, worth it in the end.

Mel Waaaaah, I KNEW it!!! Though I was hoping there would be more love involved. Maybe that'll change?

Laura Lulu You knew what? I didn't spoil things, right? Where you're at, she's already gone back in the stones to Scotland, and she's already hooked up with Jamie...what???

Mel "I don't think Dougal got Laoghaire pregnant. Think it was Geilie." I knew this!

I am still at the witch trial part. Didn't do much reading yesterday cause I was looking for new appartments on the net.

Laura Lulu Oh, you knew Dougal got Geilie preggers--psychic, you are. (Sometimes I like to talk like Yoda.)

Good luck on the apartment hunting. :)

Gemma MEl, stop it.....
YOu are making me want to try this book again....

Mel Oh no! Okay: scrap the plan of Dougal and Geillie ever getting romantically involved...
And OMG: what a startling discovery!
