So I'd kinda like someone else's take on this part. This is set in 2009, with dates. In this book a bunch of people go to Frankfort, the state capitol to protest. It's going for realism, but it changes the governors name from Bashear to Evans. To me this detracts from the story & it would've been fine without a governor appearance at all.
A quick non deep googling does not show any incidents like what happened in the book actually occurring. Flooding seems to be the more predominate issue. Will continue reading then decide if I need to do more research on the topic.
This book is winning SO MANY ACCURACY points. Dr. Patel-there's one in my town, piggly wiggly (miss this store), Dollywood where everyone goes and BEST YET....TAX FREE DAYS in Knoxville. LOL. (For the record, I avoid tax free days). Such local KY flavor.
It's already mentioned the Cumberland River which my mom grew up within seeing distance of and I worked at a rafting business that ran trips on. So far I'm thinking this book is going to make me happy.
