I think it's time to admit this just isn't gonna happen.

I can already tell that it's going to take heroic effort on my part to finish this book.

Brad NO!!! I'm dying to read this one. So, it's not good so far? :-(

Wendy Darling Um...not in my opinion. :( Not everyone will agree with me though, obviously.

Shauna I'm sorry Wendy *hugs* at least you'll always have the cover.

Heather Ugh, don't you hate that? I don't know if I've changed or the books have, but I used to worship the YA section of the bookstore. Now I face it with dread and cynicism. Sigh.

Wendy Darling I've been having a hard time with YA over the past couple of weeks. I blame the GoodReads drama in part, although what I seem to be picking up certainly doesn't help. If I read one more so-so dystopian book...

Amber J. please don't give up lol

Wendy Darling But it's been a week, Amber. I've lost the will to live.

message 8: by Heather (new)

Heather Or one more so-so YA period! I saw your review of Forbidden so I'm going to give that one a try. I had to ILL request it from my library so let's hope I get it!

message 9: by Lexie (new) - added it

Lexie You know what you need to read to restore your faith in YA? The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Best book I have ever read.

Wendy Darling It's true, there's plenty of that too, Heather. Forbidden is very polarizing, but I'd be curious to see what you think of it. It's usually a love it or hate it type book, I think!

Thanks Lexie--I've seen the raves for TFIOS and I'm definitely going to read that at some point. I have to be in the right mood for the seriousness/drama, though.

Lexie Wendy: Understandable. I was crying pretty much steadily throughout the last 100 pages or so; sometimes, if you're not in a good mood, that's not exactly what you want.

Amber J. Wendy, I have the cure for you, but shhh don't tell anyone: Callum & Harper

I read an excerpt of it on M. Leighton's website and I just had to get it the day it was released...I will probably have to read it before Unearthly, because the ending of Angelfall is sucking the hope out of me like a scorpion angel lol, so I'm going to need a paranormal/supernatural detox lol

...so anyway, yeah Callum & Harper, your faith in YA will be restored (hopefully)

Wendy Darling Oh, thanks! But wait, are you recommending a book you haven't read yet?? I may have to wait to see what you think of it first, hah.

message 14: by Amber J. (new) - added it

Amber J. True, I'm recommending it based on the few pages of excerpt I read lol, that's how good it is...and it's gotten many positive reviews even though it's only been out since Christmas...and it's only $2.99 :)
