Both tetralogies technically read. On to King. John ...

Considering it's first tetralogy stuff, Henry 6 Part II is fantastic. Mostly plot and action, but it's entertaining.

setting up nicely ... a little quick setting up the leading character, but classic Pratchett

first book I've tried reading on an e-reader (my iPhone) ... so far it's not impossible. seems awkward because the "book" is 1,500 pages the way I have the screen set up, but Discworld may work well in this format

HVI Part 2 next ...

T&C is a conundrum; perhaps not as bad as it seems b/c it doesn't fit into anything other than "problem play" category.

Did All's Well really suck? Hahahahahah ... i just read that again

Mr. Sowerby's thread has me wanting to see that end -- does Sowerby get away with his lechery or get served with cosmic justice? obviously lucy robarts and lord lufton end up together or i know nothing of Victorian lit

Lady Lufton sucks ...

... and why did I have so much trouble with Barchester Towers in college? This thing is easy to follow -- even when you set it down for a few days at a time.

good, good and good, but dammit, why do writers insist on f-ing up the iceberg theory? if erickson spent just *this* much more time explaining his universe, i might like the series more than Rings. he doesn't, so I don't.

but still good, good and good

The pitched battle is set ... and I hate saying it, but yet another battle between a matriarch Tory against a young-and-up-n-comer Whig-friended vicar/curate seems a bit tiresome. But I signed up for it. (I double hate saying it, but I think Doctor Thorne is going to be 100 times better than this one)

still feels overwritten in spots, but the setting up of Flay/Titus/Fuschia vs. Steerpike is interesting. what does Steerpike want? to be king? why? what does one really gain from that? ironically, titus doesn't want to be king.

for some reason it feels slower paced than Titus Groan ... it's still very good, but there's a tinge of over-writing in spots. i hate saying that because the writing is very, very good, but with the milieu more or less set, more action makes sense
