I was going to wait a bit before reading this, but in light of recent terrible news (Strange Chemistry shutting down), I think this book needs (and deserves) as much immediate attention as it can get. If you haven't read the series, pick it up and support the author! It's a ridiculously fun series and Meda is one of the best recent YA (anti)heroines I've read about.

This book should be called instead "They All Constantly Reassure Kenzie That She is Beautiful, Brilliant, and Perfect and Totally Deserves To Be On the List and Let's All Forget How Insanely Misogynistic This Whole Thing Is."

The "Hottie List", the bff, calling her "fifth", the nurse #9 from 1988, the "threat" to her virginity..

The "Hottie List", the attention, the guy tenderly calling her "fifth", the creepy nurse #9 from 1988, the hot guy who's a treat to her "virginity"...

A floating island in the sky, completely cut off from what is happening on the ground, and put there by the gods? Internment? Really?
It's called Skyloft. Get your facts straight.

Rayne is reading Kinslayer (The Lotus War, #2)
This beauty arrived yesterday! Can't wait to be reunited with the awesome Yukiko and my precious Buruu. But I have a feeling, like with all the things Kristoff has written so far, that I'll end up on the floor, rocking back and forth, crying my heart out and asking the universe why life is so cruel. I'm pretty sure I'll love every minute of it.

This is the second final book to one of my favorite series I've read this week. Back-to-back to be precise. Apparently, I want to emotionally destroy and scar myself. Oh well, at least I'll enjoy becoming an emotional wreck for the rest of the week.

I loved Grave Mercy, but so far, Dark Triumph is leaving its predecessor in the dust. Absolutely spectacular.

Well that's some insane amount of slut-shaming. 'Skanktron'? That's new - and absolutely unnecessary. That, combined with the fact that all the girls except for the protagonist are either mean, gossip-queens, shallow, stupid, haters, snobs or throw themselves at guys to be discarded like empty wrappers, is really hurting what would've otherwise been a good reading experience.

...what? I...just... I think I'm lost. What just happened? I have to stop picking up books without re-reading the blurbs first because I was not expecting that. Whatever that was, anyway.

"On behalf of the Goodreads team, I want to say thank you. You’re in the top 1% of reviewers on Goodreads!" My initial reaction: Well, that can't be right. After seeing all the powerhouse reviewers posting about this: Wait, how big is this 1%? After reading the email about 50 times, I still can't believe it. Thanks to everyone who has followed me or liked my reviews! This totally made my day!

So the only two all-girl gangs in this book are called 'The Pretty Ones', who do nothing for themselves except making beauty products and cheering for their brutal boyfriends as they go get supplies for them, and 'The Sluts'? Yeah, no. Strike one, book. This is already looking really bad for you.

...Awesome. I've been waiting for months for a chance to be able to take on this one and soon as I take off the dust jacket to begin, I see that there's a family tree on the back of the dust jacket and one involuntary glance tells me exactly who Tessa ends up with. Great... Oh well, moving on.

I am loving this one, but I think this book might have a huge hole in its research. The antenna Tori thought Sebastian was talking about is certainly not in New Mexico, but here in my Puerto Rico. Arecibo is a town here in PR with a world-renowned observatory that houses the largest radio dish in the world. I know this might seem totally irrelevant, but hey, this is my country and give credit where credit is due.

"My dad always complained about how feminism told us that women were equal to men. Not because he was sexist or anything, but because he firmly believed in realism." I can't believe the author would choose these words to just point out that the protagonist is in trouble because the guy is physically stronger than she is. These words are a gross, offensive and confusing misunderstanding of what feminism is.

I can't believe it's taking me so long to finish this book. It's not like The Friday Society was such an achievement in YA, but at least that one was enjoyable, this one, on the other hand, has failed to hook me in over 200 pages. This one is pretty much 'meh' at best, but I will finish it today no matter what!

Putting this one on hold until I'm done with finals. It's a really short book, but I lack the time and concentration to get through it right now. Just six more days and I'm free to read until I go blind.

I don't claim to be an expert on Jane Eyre, but I do think this book just made an wrong reference to it. The red room was at Gateshead, Mrs. Reed's house and where Jane spent her childhood, definitely not at Thornfield Hall with Mr. Rochester as this book claims.

Slowly but surely enjoying this one. I think this high-octane, cat-and-mouse game in a dystopic nation with a totally kickass protagonist is just what I needed. I will definitely do my best to finish it tomorrow.
