Anna is on page 60 of 90 of Cloudstar's Journey (Warriors Novellas)
I understand Cloudstar's reluctance to admit that the Twolegs are real threat and that what they do to the forest are serious, since he doesn't want to cause panic, there is little to nothing SkyClan can do and he trusts StarClan when the ancestors promise him safety. But he just keeps denying that they have a real problem, and that's annoying.

Things are getting interesting. Of course, add dragons to the story, and it will become interesting. :D Oh, did I mentioned that dwarves are awesome? Because they are, and they are my favourite race in the Alliance, at least before the Worgen came along. Dwarves rock!

I really love the relationship between Hallan and Tarras. Well, I like Hallan's relationships with all of the crew - how Tiar quickly took him under his wing, Fala's youthful adoration of him and his awkwardness, and how he and Chihin had to work to understand and respect each other until it grew into something more. But Tarras - Tarras had always been his bro, clear and simple, always on his side.

Despite all that, I'm glad that the murderer turned out to be who it was and that the author decided not to overcomplicate things and use Occam's razor instead. In the end, someone who seemed to be miserable and pathetic but yet harmless turned out to be a greedy and selfish hypocrite caring for nobody but themselves. However dark it is, it's more realistic than some crazy scheme, and I like it.

Everything in Strike's theory fits, yet it is pretty implausible. The murderer's plan is too intricate to be a spur of the moment thing, and yet it's not too thorough to be very well planned out. Besides, it's all based on the fact that the murderer spent a day waiting for the victim to appear, and that seems kind of pointless unless you already plan to murder them.

It's not as interesting as I hoped it would be - partly because writing style is rather dull, partly because very little is happening so far. But it's good to learn some of the history of WoW - I didn't know that the Order of Paladines was only as young as the Horde's invasion, it seemed like it was there forever, and I assumed it were demons who first created Death Knights, not the Horde.

A lot in Strike's murder theory relies on assumption and guesswork. Like really. That's somewhat understandable since he is investigating a several-months-old incident and there are no physical evidence left, but when he assumes things down to 'you spilled some water over there', it becomes way too far-fetched.

It really shows that the Compact is much more stable now when Hilfy's crew got shot at one of the stations - and police arrived, and the authorities apologized and at least promised to look into the incident. Contrast the previous books, where the crew was attacked/shot at several times a book, and no one blinked on eye. But after all, there had been a de facto war at that time...

Strike keeps calling the murderer a psychopath and a madman, but they are not. The murderer had killed for money, and then to cover up the first crime, not because they liked killing. True, they did kill someone when they were just a kid, and that's psychic, but they didn't return to murders for twenty years, and that's not behaviour of a serial killer.

Gishild outdrinks her husband on their wedding night and then gives all the nobles of Fjorland a figurative slap when she chooses her coat of arm. Even though she wasn't happy with the order of Tjured, she doesn't reject that part of her life and isn't going to forget about it. She is who she is, belonging to both Fjorland and the Order. I'm so proud of this girl!

What makes this book pretty dark is that doesn't seem to be a truly good side in a three-way civil war that rages in the world: Burn will bath the world in blood for her own pleasure, Blister is a literal snake who will poison everything on her way to the throne, and while Blaze seems to be harmless, she is equally incompetent. Even the Talons of Peace, the supposedly good guys, have their own agenda.

I feel that we don't know Luccio well enough. Harry mentioned going to missions with her and how much he trusts her due to that, but we, readers, only seen her in two books unless there are short stories I haven't read yet. So I suppose that's the reason I haven't warmed up to the character yet.

To continue on my previous post, I suppose me having issues with Luccio's age makes me a hypocrite since I had no problem with 200-year-old Charles getting paired with 25-year-old Anna in 'Alpha and Omega', but still. I always viewed Luccio as that tough old biker lady that is totally cool and awesome mentor figure, but not someone you would view romantically, so her suddenly getting together with Harry feels wrong.

Is there something better than Harry/Murphy relationship? I really want them to get together, but I wouldn't mind if they don't if they just stay this close to each other. And Murphy giving Harry tips on his relationship with Luccio was spot-on! I entirely agree that Luccio is not the right match for Harry. Firstly, I can't get over the fact that she is 100 years older than Harry, even if she is stuck in young body.

I love the bond between Harry and the Knights of Cross - Nicodimus does everything he can to frame Harry up as a traitor and make the Knights to turn on him, but Michael just shrugs it off. And the episode where Rosanna tries to tempt Sanya, a former Denarian himself, to join their side once again, and Sanya just laughts and says he had changed? That was an awesome moment.

I really enjoyed exploring the different ways of life of the dragon tribes. The Sky Kingdom didn't lend us a lot of information about Skywings except for how messed up Scarlet and her reign is, but the trip to Mud Kingdom was worth it. Mudwings have very interesting society and family structure, and while it's unusual, it draws me in a lot. Yay for Mudwing brotherhood!

It's good to be reminded of the power of stsho: they may be physically weak, emotionally feeble, naturally pacifist and mentally fragile to the point they can actually die of stress, but they are also probably the richest species in the Compact. So when the ambassador threatens to just shut down all the trade with a certain station, all the officials start hopping at gtst word.

It's not enough that some of my favourite characters died, but now Honore of all people leads the Order? Leon was far from nice, but Honore... In a story that has basically no villain, he is probably the only truly evil character, or at least malicious. His name couldn't have been more ironic, because he has no honor.

As we are nearing to the riddle's solution and get some answers, and all I can think of is, 'How convenient'. Maybe I'm just not as invested in this book as in some others and missed some clues, but it seems that the information about Tansy's whereabouts during murder came from nowhere. With Tony's secret, at least there were signs of some clues, even if I didn't pick on them.

Actually, I like how Coyote died. He had always been a cunning villain, manipulating others to do his work for him, but in the end, he is driven in such a frenzy that he directly attacks the horses, however crazy it sounds. I love the irony so much.

I like the plotline involving Denarians, but not the fairies. In the end, it was explained why Summer and Winter courts got involved in there, and while their motivation wasn't as confusing as in 'Proven Guilty', I still find this subplot redundant and distracting. However, I like how the confrontation between the Denarians and the Knights of Cross was brought to the new level with involvements of higher forces.

There is certainly an interesting dymanic within the crew, with Fala desperately trying to flirt with Hallan and Hallan being too embarrassed and not wanting to get in any trouble. Also, it's been awhile since I read the book that focused on the market and economy so much, which is logical since the heroes are traders, and they need to make a living.

Glory is going to be the only dragonet I don't like. She is snarky and sarcastic, but that doesn't make her cool, it makes her rude. She always behaves like an attention-seeker ('I'm not part of the prophecy, don't care about me'), and she is mean to Clay. In fact, her forcing him to choose between her and Peril is exactly what Peril did, thinking he ought to pick either her or his old friends.

Peril is an engaging character, but I can't say that I root for her. I'm sorry for her because she was raised in such a twisted way that made it impossible for her to tell right from wrong and made her into a psychotic killer dragon... But it doesn't change the fact that she is a psychotic killer dragon. Even when she tries to help Clay, she just wants him for herself, thinking nothing about his friends.

That's how the horses manage to escape the trap laid by humans, just by jumping over the ravine? All of them? Espero, who is blind? Angela and Corazon, who are so old that they couldn't keep up with the herd two pages ago? Bella, who was seriously ill and only recently recovered? Would've been better if the weaker horses were captured and Estrella had to rescue them. Now this plotline feels rushed and underdeveloped.

Oh my, why? Why would you make me love both sides of the conflict and them make them kill each other? What makes this battle especially heartbreaking is the understanding that it could have been avoided if it weren't for many 'if only'. If only Suneye managed to get to the ships in time... If only Drustan wasn't angry and drunk enough to pick fights... If only Luke chose another road through the woods...
