I wish one could have a category between want to read, and my reading plan. Maybe you all could work on that one.

The twelve big books are: Finnegan's Wake, Gravity's Rainbow, The Familiar 1-4, Devil on the Cross, The Sympathizer
I need four recommendations, I have eight so far. Twelve is the goal.

Most of the books here represent my overall plan to read 12 big books this year. I am tired of trying to see how many books I can read. I have proved to myself that I have read over a hundred books in a year. But can I read 12 big reads? Not so sure?

I can't put this book down. Hurston has a way with her prose that makes her non fiction engaging.

When I was young somehow Dr. Who would be left on the television when I was sick. I was weirder out by the show and scared deeply by the voices of the daleks. And the humane inhumanity of the Cybermen.

I am currently doing a chronoligical study of Haruki Marakami. Reading the short stories in order of publication as well. So if published in 1985 I will read after Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. So far it has been fascinating to read this author's work in order. One can see the development of a fine writer.

I am enamoured by his horror rooted in the historical. he does a great job of writing in the first person. I read lesser evil then went and started "those across the river" So far very enjoyable...

Okay I watched the Thing when I was ten. It was humurously funny. But the story it is based on is truly creepy and horrifying. I can see where the story was utilized in other horror stories. Eg The Faculty.

So writing and reading EEEEE EEEE EE by Tao Lin and wondering how this book got to be published. He seems to be just ad libbing as he goes along. He will state one thing and then another thing and the stream of conscious writing bleeds onto the page like a missile destroying all sense of proportion. To ad lib is good. But he ad libs and builds worlds from his wrecked mind. Where did he get the ideas presen

Frank Bill describes his probing into the nature of the everyman as: "An odd man who keeps odd hours with a twisted sense of humor and a taste for the brew. He's older but like J.W. he's got a dark sense of mind that others have no business trespassing on. "

Train in Tucson. Yes the tracks run right down the street. I think or am lead to believe that I have been at the bar he talks about, but it was morning, and the light of the night was extinguished.

I had a dream, (go into dream details in review) I tried to retell this dream to my writing class, then a girl who I have oft run into said, "Have Your Read House of Leaves." And this is how I found the book.

I loved reading stories where, as Aarseth says, “nontrivial effort is required to allow the reader to traverse the text.”—stories where you can’t simply turn pages , but where the act of reading is just as dynamic as the act of processing what you’ve read. Quote from

She gets the Southern Belle today like no one else. She gets the intricacy of culture in the South. She gets it and her story is believable.
