A bit of a slow start but Stephenson has once again sucked me in to a tale that has skittered off into directions I couldn't have imagined. Cannot put this book down...

This book is like a long, beautiful, extended dream (or maybe a screenplay, given how it is written in present-tense). I'm hooked!

Biggest problem with this book? Too big to stick in my pocket to surreptitiously sneak into meetings and/or the restroom. (Almost done!!!)

Beautiful prose at times, but very dense and difficult to follow at times. Also not a fan of lack of quotation marks in dialog (adds to dense nature). I will probably finish this but not sure I'm going to like it.

I'm really enjoying this so far. Jane Austen's long-lost fantasy novel describes it to a T. If anything, I'm liking it even more than Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, which I thoroughly relished. Eager to see where the book goes from here.

This book is like chocolate mousse - it's a treat, but not super-dense, and I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN.

So engrossing. If this isn't yet on your "to read" list, trust me and add it.

I think tennis fans will find this as engaging as I do. Others may get tired of Agassi's struggles by the halfway point.

Not a huge Agassi fan but I really enjoy the writing style.

So far this book would be better titled "An Ode to Fish". Guess that's what you get when the author makes the main character a "naturalist" and expert on deep-sea icthyology.

On the home stretch now - if I'm not careful I'd stay up all night until I finish it off again!

For some reason, I'm loathe to finish this book. The world in the novel is so horrifying, but I want to make it last.

As engrossing as everyone says it is. This is going to be a quick and entertaining read, I can tell.

Unbelievably, as good as the movie. Insights from Goldman about why he wrote the "good stuff abridged version" are fascinating.

The beginning was really interesting. Then it got really slow and the character/idea development wasn't enough. Will push through though.

Really enjoying this book. There's an awful lot left unsaid that I suspect will be bubbling to the surface soon.
