I'm alive! I promise! I've been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition and I'm gonna snag the books 'cause I'm super interested in the lore now.

Guild Wars 2 is having a free trial week (started a few days ago) and will be half off until October 5th. I'm on the Northern Shiverpeaks server. Some features aren't available to trial members like World vs World because there is currently a tournament going on.

In light of Robin Williams' death, please watch this brutally honest and heartfelt video about battling depression. It will equip you with the knowledge you need about how hard it is when you succumb to it and how important it is to handle it with care if you need to support someone struggling with it.

Jefir nodded, understanding perfectly well what ‘bad trouble’ meant to the Kenda. “Go. I’ll have my crew help with the ropes and I think we can work up a brawl big enough to draw the attention of the constables away from you. Be careful out there in the black." Defend yourself by killing a murderous rapist aristocrat, get a cover up from a friend. Best friend mentality right there.

AAAAAUUUUUGH major trigger warnings and so much wrong right now. I can't even begin to describe because I'm sleep deprived and so many feels flooding in. Mostly negative right now but the writing style and world building is quite good. We'll have to see about everything else though.

I wish we had the same level of control over what goes onto our feed like we can with what goes onto our friends' feeds. Blargh.

It seems to be inspired by James Cameron's awful indigenous-hating, white saviour, "Pocahontas in space" Avatar movie. Except a little better...so far. It's potentially triggering for some because kidnapping, torturing, and killing native "primitives" as they call them. Hopefully, this doesn't turn out the same as every other "white man's burden" media.

“It’s your show, but I recommend we cut north and track along this river.” “Why?” Seg asked, studying the map. “Because,” she said. My only complaint about this book so far is that there aren't very many breaks in conversations so it's harder to keep track of who's talking. Otherwise I'm diggin it.

Techno Talents, or techies, had an unquantified gift for technology. They could develop and configure any type of technological device.
Another reason why this book is boring: everything is perfect. Things always go the right way and if there's a slight hitch, it's fixed to be perfected again.

Stupid, ignorant people shouldn't be allowed to speak. Was talking about domestic abuse in Fifty Shades of Grey and this happened so naturally, I had to take them to school.

" We began to roll around, punching and kicking at any exposed area on the other. He would use my mental powers to throw me across the room, only to have me use them to pull him back towards me to go another round." This is basically the fight scenes (and there aren't a lot for a book that's centered around combat specialists). No action or suspense or life in the writing.

"I felt something inside of me freeze and then shatter into a million pieces. My heart."

Boys, boys, boys, exposition, 1 friend who happens to be the only other female character in the book, boys, boys, boys, exposition, exposition, boys. This is hell.

"Mental" word count: 90.

I like Kerbin. I imagine her as Asian and I'm digging the women in command. Don't really like Seg because of the whole "I'm smarter than you, woman! Know your place!" sexist trip so I'm hoping Ama will kick his ass, especially because she seems like a no-nonsense badass.

Not only was the word "blue" user ten times in the same paragraph in two consecutive sentences, but a white man was described as "fair skinned", delicate, and flawless. When will white authors stop describing their own skin color with words that have racist undertones??? Because they imply that any skin tones that aren't white are not "fair and flawless" and that instead they're just plain "dark"??? Jfc.

Sex Ed: "if you have a vagina and you're a girl, you get pregnant when you have sex so you can't. If you have a penis, and you're a boy, do what you want and have fun!" - Talented. And missed opportunity to strengthen the only female friend the protag had by bringing their backgrounds in with more exposition instead of meaningful dialogue which I am now realizing this book may be incapable of. "Mental" word count: 54

Now I wish I kept track of the amount of times she said "connection, mind, willed, opened my mind" and a plethora of phrases she LOVES to repeat over and over again. Protag whines because she doesn't wanna leave her finger on a thumbpad longer than a second and all she worries about is her bf after he was a complete asscake about her drinking with friends. "Mental" word count: 47. This book...PLS HALP MEH!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!!!! NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!! *puts phone down to subdue urge to throw it across the room* "Mental" word count: 42(!!!!!!), my/his mental voice: 10. Btw the protag is basically like Jean Grey from X-Men, hence my counting the number of times Davis writes "mental" (ex: My mental voice blurted, "I'm a butt.")
