Diane McWhorter {author, Carry Me Home: Birmingham, Alabama: The Climactic Battle of the Civil Rights Revolution]: I think some of us have to leave the South to love it. You can't write about it if you don't love it, and it may be hard to love when you are down there amongst 'em.

They should rename this book, 'Scout, Atticus, Boo & f*cking Truman Capote,' because every essay has at least a page dedicated to Capote. Enough already!

Very interesting but the information in the interviews is very repetitive.

I bought this the day Go Set A Watchman came out and started it straight after finishing that, it's wonderful reading about Lee's life and how important this book and these characters have become to so many people.

I bought this during the 50th anniversary hoopla about TKMB. That was some time ago. I decided to read it at last. I need to read some thin books!

I'm about 1/2 way through... though because I read the introduction, I'm re-reading certain parts at times...(literally). Overall, interesting collaboration from all different people involved in Harper Lee's Life/To Kill A Mockingbird...tidbits of interesting information here and there...nothing to write home about, but not horrible...

Sometimes one great book is all an author has in them...why are people so obsessed with the fact that Lee never wrote another novel?

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books, so I was excited to see that there was a whole book/documentary dedicated to reactions to it.

I'm really enjoying this, but I can't help but wonder if Harper Lee is displeased with what interviewees are revealing.

Happily immersed in all things Mockingbird. Did find 1 mistake in the book's introduction. Now, want to immediately see the movie again & looking forward to a reread of TKAM w/2 GR friends next month!

Oh dear. The Penderwicks book is going to have to wait, maybe 'til next summer at the rate I'm going. I'm hoping this book won't be disappointing. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my very favorite books.
