Thinking maybe he comes out of the same school as Dave Eggers? Where he feels like he gets to use every writing gimmick there is? But only once?

Loving Klosterman's voice and narrative. The way that he reveals the past and present of each character, as well as their internal monologues, is such a grab for me...! Speeding to the end and wishing there was more (and ideally, there is -- his other books)

If you like CK's essays, you might like this--it's essentially a fictionalized version of them. I can't say I love it or hate it, but I certainly find it compelling enough to finish. I'll reserve judgement until then.

Coming from a small town I could realy relate to this book. How he gets inside the characters heads and explains things is well done. This is the 3rd book of his to read and cannot wait to read more.

So far O.K., with lots of NoDak references and totally true depictions of small-town life. ALOT of emphasis on 1980's pop-culture which is already becoming a bit much!

kind of boring so far. The characters aren't that interesting and neither is the plot.

Haha. New to Owl teacher makes new friends. And gets hit on at YODA's bar. Asked to go see E.T. at the movies. Then brings home a ton of free drinks she had gotten at the bar.

Not really liking Horace's parts. Good thing, because they're the shortest. Mitch and Julia on the other hand, are great.

Would it be possible that Klosterman is even more gifted at writing fiction? Sure looks that way.

I'm going to make a list of people who should read this book, because, this book has shitload of lists. And heck, I want to make one, which eventually will get lost in the information highway.

1) If you hate rock music.
2) If you hate hate disco.
3) If you hate people around you and seemingly high density of retards around you.
(contd.)
