Interesting ideas on why wolf/dog hybrids are so unpredictable & aggressive.

Well, actually, I've been skipping around so much it's hard to say where I am.

I am on the Horse chapter right now and am pleased to learn that my methods of horse-training are the ones recommended by Temple Grandin.

I have just started the Wildlife chapter, but found the chapter on Chickens that preceeds it to be very interesting. I have friends who keep laying hens and have always enjoyed watching their flock scratch around their yard. Chickens have a lot more going on in their tiny brains than we give them credit for, and Temple addresses a lot of that in her chapter on the birds.

Temple's argument for greater partnership between field-workers and academics and between animal welfare groups and animal husbandry groups is very well stated. Partnership between those groups is the only way we can achieve the best for both the animals and people that populate this Earth.

This was a fantastic book. I learned a lot about the animal emotional system and how to use their instincts to improve their care and training. I think anyone who has a pet or works with animals should read this book.
