Good summer read! As a more modern woman than Sissy, I had a little trouble believing all the grief she was willing to suffer through in her quest for revenge. I've read all of Picoult's books except
Songs of the Humpback Whale and Harvesting the Heart. I was floored by My Sister's Keeper and Nineteen Minutes, but the others seem to be less impressive to me. Picture Perfect was not one of my favorites. It read too glibly, even though the topic was of major importance. I am forming the opinion that many of her books require the reader to suspend their belief in reality...I see this as her going off on a tangent…what she does isn’t actually necessary for the plot to develop, it’s like tossing in an extra character or subplot for no discernible reason.
I'll continue to read what she writes because she introduces thought-provoking and interesting topics, and I'll continue hoping that her future works read more like my 2 favorites of hers.

We seem to share the same opinion about the books both of us have read, so I can't wait to read Isabel Allende's book. 5 stars! It must be terrific! What's it about? I haven't heard of it. I read Enrique's Journey a couple of summers ago. That is a wonderful, true story. The author won a Pulitzer Prize for the article that spawned the book. (I think I remember the facts correctly!)
