Hi all,
nice to find so many lovely people on the planet!
My name is Julie. I also love to read a great book. This happens for me several times a year when I can steal time for myself - I am a surgical resident finishing up in a couple of years. 'They' would love it if I never read anything for pleasure again!!!
However a few times per year I get some reprieve and I read, read, read. Usually my reads are something I pick up in the Minneapolis airport and then I devour them on vacation. Then back to reality. Recently a patient gave me Eat Love Pray. I am finishing this now, today. I have enjoyed this book and came here to learn of other suggestions that anyone has for more of the same uplifting reading, escape, intellect.
Recent reads that I have recommended to the world include The Memory Keepers Daughter and The Glass Castle. Several I have in the works are The Secret Life of the Fire King and Atonement - any other suggestions would be certainly appreciated. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I am a bit of a chatty cathy, need to work on that I guess.
